The story
Born in Lyon, France. Eliahu BENAYOUN was deported with his wife, Esther, seven months pregnant, and their four children. The family lived in Lyons, 157 rue Paul Bert. The oldest, Jacques, age 13, was born in Oran, Algeria. Marie, 9, was born in Nedroma. The younger children were born in Lyons: Anna, 5, and Lucien, 2. The Benayoun family was deported from Lyons on convoy 78 of August 11, 1944. Jacques and his father survived.
