The story

Loved boats and water. Pete slipped away from home without his mother's permission to go to the creek. His mother was tending to her garden at 42 W. Potomac Street. His sister Verda noticed Pete was missing. A search party was held out at 11: 15 AM. Dollie (mother) ran down calling for Pete and saw his clothes on the creek bank. Many people gathered the creek to search for him. Pete's body was recovered at 12:30 in the afternoon. It appeared that Pete accidently slipped in the creek and drowned.
